Thank you gift caramel apple: when one is enough

One hand-dipped caramel apple is enough for most thank-yous. Here is who it suits, what to write on the card, when to order, and when to step up to a Duo Box.

One caramel apple is enough for most thank-yous: a teacher, a coworker, a host, a neighbor, a client. The Single Gift Apple is $15, hand-dipped, gift-boxed and ready to ship. Add a note, order by Thursday, and it ships the following Monday.

Below: who a single apple suits, what to write on the card, how timing and freshness work, and when two apples make more sense.

When one apple is enough for a thank-you

A single apple works when the thanks is for one person and the gesture matters more than the volume. One apple. No bundle. No apology.

Who you are thankingIs one apple enough?
A teacherYes. One apple, one note, easy to carry home.
A coworker who covered for youYes. It fits on a desk and needs no fork.
A host after dinner or a weekend stayYes. Send it a few days later, once the thank-you card would normally go out.
A neighbor who took in your packagesYes. Small, specific, and not awkward to accept.
A clientYes for one contact. For a whole team, see the bulk section below.

A caramel apple is already a complete thing. It does not need a basket around it to look like enough. If you want the longer case for that, read what to look for in a caramel apple gift and whether a $15 apple is worth it.

What to write on the card

The Single Gift Apple page has an optional personal note field, with room for 140 characters. That is a sentence or two, which is the right size. Write one specific thing, then stop.

  1. Name the favor. "Thank you for covering my Friday shift."
  2. Say what it did. "It meant I made it to the recital."
  3. Sign it plainly. Your first name is enough.

A few that fit under 140 characters:

  • "Thank you for a great first semester. This one is for you. Enjoy it. Maya's mom"
  • "You made the project easier. Thank you. Have this one on us. Dana"
  • "Thank you for having us. Dinner was the best part of the weekend. Sam and Jo"

Skip "just a little something." The apple is the something. The note only needs to say why.

When to order, and how fresh it arrives

Every apple is made to order, so nothing sits on a shelf. The rule is simple: orders placed by Thursday ship the following Monday. The product page has an optional requested delivery date field, and we aim for that date. It is a request, not a promise.

Freshness is five days. Per our shipping page, an apple is best enjoyed within five days of delivery, kept at room temperature in its box and away from direct sunlight. That shapes who you send it to:

  • Pick an address where someone will be there to take the box in. An office that is closed for the week is a bad choice.
  • Send the recipient a quick heads-up text. It is the cheapest freshness tool there is.
  • Ship to a US address. We deliver to the 48 contiguous states.

If the thank-you has a deadline, such as a dinner or the last day before a break, order a week ahead. Our order timeline by occasion covers the peak weeks.

Allergens: read this before you order

Dairy is in every apple. The caramel contains it, with no exceptions and no dairy-free option. If your recipient has a dairy allergy, this is not the gift.

Toppings change with the flavor, so tree nut and gluten-adjacent ingredients vary. We cannot give a blanket nut-free or gluten-free guarantee. If you are unsure, email caught-wanting@sogoodmail.co before you order and we will confirm the topping list for the flavor you are considering. The full breakdown is on the allergens page.

With a boss, a client or a neighbor you do not know well, a quick question to them beats a guess.

Shipping cost and the Duo Box for two

Free US shipping starts at $28. A single apple at $15 sits below that line, so shipping is added at checkout. We state it plainly rather than hide it.

If your thank-you is for two people, the Duo Box is $28. That is two apples in a two-slot gift box, your choice of flavor combinations, with free US shipping. Two singles would cost $30 before shipping. So for a couple who hosted you, or two teachers, the Duo Box is cheaper and arrives as one box.

For a small team of four, the Orchard Set is $52. For an office list, The Dozen is ordered by contact form. Not sure about the count? Our post on how many caramel apples to order works through it.

Frequently asked questions

Is one caramel apple enough as a thank-you gift? For one person, yes. A hand-dipped apple in its own gift box with a note card reads as deliberate. It is one good thing, not a sampler. For two people, a Duo Box is the cleaner choice.

How much does a thank-you caramel apple cost? The Single Gift Apple is $15. Shipping is added at checkout on orders under $28. Free US shipping applies at $28 or more, which the $28 Duo Box meets exactly.

How long before it needs to arrive? We make each apple to order. Orders placed by Thursday ship the following Monday, and the apple is best within five days of delivery. Order a week ahead if the date matters.

Does a thank-you caramel apple contain dairy? Yes. Dairy is in every apple we make. Tree nuts and gluten-adjacent toppings vary by flavor. Check the allergens page, and email us before ordering if there is any concern.
